REVIEW: Tempting the Player by J. Lynn

Tempting the Player by J. Lynn

Series:Gamble Brothers, #2
Publication Date:October 23rd 2012
Publisher:Entangled Publishing, LLC (Brazen)
Kindle Edition, 203 pages
Useful Info: Goodreads, Author's Website

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

Oh well, there are absolutely no words to describe how brilliant an author Jennifer Armentrout really is! And I'm afraid, that no matter what I say or what words I'll use to do it won't do her justice. Yeah, you guessed right, I absolutely loved Tempting the Player! No big surprise here, right?

Jennifer Armentrout is one of those authors whose work hasn't failed me even once to this day. Either she writes YA or adult, her stories are incredible and manage to stir such emotions that has made this author one of my absolute favourites!

Tempting the Player is her second adult contemporary romance in her Gamble Brothers series and its the story of Chad Gable and Bridget and if I just loved the story of the first Gable brother, Chase, let me tell you that I loved this one even more because somehow, it's even better! I don't how that is even possible but it's true! Chad and Bridget's story just blew me away with its humor and sexual tension and with how deliciously hot those sex scenes were!

Honestly, if there's one thing that Jennifer Armentrout can do perfect (and there are many more believe me!) that is building a painfully delicious sexual tension between her main couples. In every single title I read by this author, that is one department she never fails to deliver. Never! And not only that, but it seems that book by book, she gets even better if that is possible. I mean how many levels of sexual tension are there to get better and better by each book?

So be warned, Chad and Bridget share some really HOT scenes in Tempting the Player!

The story of Tempting the Player is rather typical, not big surprises here, but the way Jennifer Armentrout delivers her stories is what makes them so unique. It's not the actual stories that are so great (which they are now that I'm thinking about it) but it's also the way she writes them. Her sense of humor is just priceless!

All in all, Tempting the Player was a pure delight to read, a story all fans of the genre and all fans of the author shouldn't miss. It's simply wickedly entertaining!

Waiting on Wednesday: Unchained

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My selection for this week is:

Unchained by J. Lynn
Publication Date: 2013
Publisher:Entangled Select

Summary from Goodreads:
Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.

The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone.

Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

What I think:
Have you read anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout? If you have then you absolutely understand why I'm dying to read anything written by this author :P

Whatever Armentrout writes, whether it's YA or adult, is simply amazing! Unchained is her first adult paranormal novel, and after having a taste of what the author can do in the adult field with her Tempting the Best Man novel, well, Unchained promises to be thrilling! Full of romance and action. Exactly what the author can do best! A must read!

REVIEW: Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn

Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn

Publication Date:April 23rd 2012
Publisher:Entangled Publishing: Indulgence
ebook, 172 pages
Book & Purchase Info: Goodreads, Author's Website

Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother's best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic. 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can't stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first…

I haven't even noticed that Jennifer Armentrout was preparing a short story under her pen name J. Lynn, so when I was given the opportunity to read and review it I jumped right at it! And naturally I wasn't disappointed in the least!

Tempting the Best Man is the first sample of Armentrout's work in adult territory and I'll just say it: I was impressed! Surely, from her YA work we already knew that she has the ability to pull off sexy scenes and hot couples but well, with her adult story she proves she can do it for both a younger and a more mature audience.

Tempting the Best Man is a short story, one I devoured in a day since I just couldn't put it down as soon as I started reading it. Well, that is common for every book I read by the same author but it never fails to surprise me every single time :)

This story has enough character development for a short story, enough bickering and sexiness to satisfy everyone and make them want more... I knew I wanted more... I may have gotten my closure for Madison and Chase's story but still I just wanted more. Because Armentrout knows how to make her readers crave for more!

I won't say much about the actual story of the book, it's so small and cute that any details would spoil the fun of it, so, all I'm going to say is that it's a fun and sexy story that won't disappoint any romance reader out there. You're guaranteed to spend a good time while reading it and trust me, you'll want more! And I sure hope that there are some plans for the rest Gamble brothers to get their own stories. They intrigued me to no end!
