Let It Snow Books: Interview with Laura Kaye + Giveaway

Welcome to Day 1 of Let it Snow Books 2012, where for the next three weeks you have the chance to read some really fun holiday posts from some of your favorite authors, both here and at Ex Libris.

Today, we welcome Laura Kaye here at Books to Brighten your Mood with a festive post and you will have the chance to win a copy of Her Forbidden Hero, one of the best contemporary romance that I read in 2012. If like me, you love hot and tortured alpha males and sweet heroines then Her Forbidden Hero is just the books for you!
Do you want to remember my review of Her Forbidden Hero? Here is a preview of it:
This is the first book by Laura Kaye I read, and now I can safely say that I fully understand all those people who praise and love her work. Her Forbidden Hero was simply amazing!

This is the story of Marco, a soldier who gets back from war seriously injured both physically and emotionally... Read the rest of the review here.

And now, let's give a warm welcoming to Laura!

-Since this whole event is about the Best Books we read in 2012, could you share with us some of your favorite titles you read this year?
Laura: Oh, I’d love to! These are all ones I read and loved in 2012, though some weren’t published this
year:

J.R. Ward, Lover Reborn
Maya Banks’s McCabe Highlander Trilogy and her newest Never Seduce a Scot
Lisa Kleypas’s Travis series (Sugar Daddy, Blue-Eyed Devil, Smooth-Talking Stranger)
Jennifer Probst, The Marriage Bargain
Gina Maxwell, Seducing Cinderella
Christine Bell, Down for the Count

I’m sure there are more, but that’s a good sample!

-What’s your favorite thing about the holidays?
Laura: I love the festiveness of decorations, Christmas carols, family get-togethers, presents, and holiday food!

-What makes you feel that Christmas time is finally here?
Laura: The cold, the first snow, and carols on the radio and in stores.

-Do you have any favorite holiday themed stories (movies or books)?
Laura: My favorite holiday movie is Love, Actually. I also love The Sound of Music, which I always
associate with Christmastime whether it’s actually a holiday-themed story or not!

-Could you share with us your favorite holiday meal/dessert/candy?
Laura: Oh, man, just one??? I really love turkey and stuffing for the holidays. And iced sugar cookies always make me think of Christmas. Tins of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. And, omg, Panera Bread has this holiday bread stuffed with apples and chocolate chips that is out of this world! See? I could go on and on!

-You’re holiday shopping, name a few things you’ll buy this year.
Laura: I’ve already done a little holiday shopping, so I can share that so far my older daughter is getting the Hogwart’s Lego castle and the Monster High Monster-Making Kit, and my younger daughter is getting the Monster High High School playset. I *might* also get them each a Kindle or a Nook. Sshh!

-We all love Christmas holidays, but I was wondering if there’s anything about them that you find annoying?
Laura: I loathe mall parking lots during the holidays! Whatever kindness people feel from the season seems to flee them when they’re circling for parking spots! LOL And as much as I love decorating, I really hate taking all the decorations down again!

-Let’s say you have the chance to spend the holidays with a fictional character, who would that be and what would you be doing?
Laura: Aw, see, I’m torn between spending the holidays with Owen Winters, my totally playful and adorable (and OMG hawt) snow god from North of Need, or the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s Zsadist, who is my hands-down favorite fictional male. Can I have them both? Heh. Then again I’m not sure Zsadist would play very nicely with Owen.

-What would be your (bookish or not) New Year’s resolutions?
Laura: I’m hoping for more balance in 2013. I have a crazy ambitious writing schedule between now and September, but I need to get better about making time for exercise, rest, and sleep!

-What would you ask Santa to bring you this year?
Laura: Hmm. Geez, it’s been such a year of wish fulfillment, I’m not sure what to ask for? I wonder if he could give me more time??? If not, maybe a Kindle Fire so I could stop doing all my reading on my iPhone! LOL

Happy Holidays Laura and thank you for stopping by :)

Great holiday interview Laura! As for Owen and Zsadist playing nice I think Zsadist would melt Owen with one dark stare from him.
