Welcome to Day 10 of Let it Snow Books 2012, where for the next two weeks you have the chance to read some really fun holiday posts from some of your favorite authors, both here and at Ex Libris.
Today, we welcome author Susan Ee here at Books to Brighten your Mood with a festive post and you will have the chance to win a copy of Angelfall, one of the best books I read not only in 2012 but ever! Angelfall is a dystopian novel unlike anything you have ever read and its sequel one of my most anticipated releases for 2013!
Read my review to see what I mean:
WOW!!!I mean WOW...! I just finished reading Angelfall and I truly can't find the right words to describe my feelings right now. I didn't just enjoy reading this book, I'm not merely ecstatic about it. No, I loved it so much, that I just can't remember when exactly was the last time I fell so in love with a book.Surely, I have really liked other books, but Angelfall is just better. It's among those books that... Read the rest of the review here.
-First of all, I think I'll start with a few questions that I'm dying to know the answer myself :) And the first one is none other than if there are any news regarding the sequel of Angelfall.
Susan: The sequel is scheduled to be published in the Fall of 2013.
-Have you planned how many books will there be in the series?
Susan: I'm guessing there will be five but am not sure yet.
-And now, on to the holiday themed questions :) Since this whole event is about the Best Books we read in 2012, could you share with us some of your favorite titles you read this year?
Susan: I've been hooked on the Gone series by Michael Grant this year. Dark and Juicy.
-Is there anything special you usually do for the holidays?
Susan: Find snow! It’s hard to come by on the west coast, but I try to find time to throw a snowball or two and make some snowangels. This year my inspiration will be Raffe. ;)
-Do you have any favorite holiday themed stories (movies or books)?
Susan: My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. Growing up in California, where it's often 70 degrees on Christmas, I was wonderstruck by the kid who got his tongue stuck on a pole. Wow—the magic of ice!
-Could you share with us your favorite holiday meal/dessert/candy?
Susan: Turtles. There was an amazing place in New Mexico that made this addictive combination of nuts, carmel and chocolate. My supplier was a friend from New Mexico whose mom sent it to her for the holidays. I never asked for any details because I'd be in serious trouble if I could order as much of it as I wanted. This year, they stopped making it and I'm at a complete loss. I'm currently looking for a substitute so I guess I'll have to try a whole bunch of turtles.
-What’s one of the best gifts you ever received/gave for Christmas?
Susan: This year, for the month of December until Christmas Eve, for every purchase of Angelfall (ebook or paperback) through Amazon, my publisher and I are gifting a copy of Angelfall to young adults in Africa.
-You’re holiday shopping, name a few things you’ll buy this year.
Susan: I have no idea…I'll have a better idea by Christmas eve… :)
Thank you Susan for stopping by here today and Happy Holidays
About the author
Susan Ee has eaten mezze in the old city of Jerusalem, surfed the warm waters of Costa Rica, and played her short film at a major festival. She has a life-long love of science fiction, fantasy and horror, especially if there's a touch of romance. She used to be a lawyer but loves being a writer because it allows her souped-up imagination to bust out and go feral.
Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, Book 1) is her debut novel.

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.
Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.
Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.
Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco where she’ll risk everything to rescue her sister and he’ll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.
