For a moment, a face flashed before my eyes—the most hideous face I’d ever seen. No matter how hard I tried to forget what had happened, I saw him everywhere I went. It was Loki—the evil god that I’d helped set free against my will.

I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming.

I’ve been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison—and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan’s dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I’m guilty. If I’m going to get out of this mess alive, I’ll have to do it myself…

Jennifer Estep is one of my favorite authors currently and for a good reason believe me! And Crimson Frost is just another sample of how great an author she really is. The newest instalment in Mythos Academy series is just brilliant!

It's not really common for me to become really obsessed with a series, surely I do like and love many books but for me to lose my sleep just to read a few more chapters is a rare occurrence, especially lately. But Mythos Academy, is one of those few book series for me, that I would forget to sleep or eat just to know what happens next in the story. I remember saying it before, but Mythos Academy makes me feel like I'm reading Harry Potter again. It's not that the story is similar, it's just the way I feel towards those two series. And it's the first time that I ever compare a series with Harry Potter. So, you can guess from that how much I love Gwen's story.

Each book in Mythos Academy is amazing on it's own, but somehow each one of them is better than the previous, if that is even possible. Or maybe I feel that way because with each book the story progresses and I have new things to focus on, I don't really know. All I know is that Jennifer Estep has done an extremely good job with her YA series.

In Crimson Frost, the main feeling I had was that of frustration. Frustration of all the unjust things that kept happening to Gwen, at the fact that almost no one was able to see the truth. I was angry towards everyone in this book (well, apart from the good guys obviously) and all I wanted was for Gwen to be able to find a way to get out of that mess others put her in.

The romance between Logan and Gwen progresses to a whole other level and the ending just left me heartbroken for her. Needless to say that waiting for the next book to be published will be a real torture.

I think I have said it before, but I will mention it once more nevertheless. The best thing about this series is how things escalate from book to book. How the darkness grows and how Gwen has to face more difficult situations.

I won't say anything about the world building or the character development. They are incredible as always. The plot is also fast paced and action filled. And here, I'll also have to note that along with everything else, the action scenes are also getting more book by book and they are darker and more violent. Summing it up, every single aspect of this series is escalating until the final battle that is yet to come.

All in all, Mythos Academy is one of the best YA series out there. One I absolutely love and can't help but recommend to everyone.

  2. In Crimson Frost, Gwen is on her first date with boyfriend Logan Quinn when out of no where Gwen is arrested and abused of being a Reaper and freeing Loki. Though toward the end of the book she realizes that something bad is about to happen and rushes to figure out what is the reapers are trying to do.
