Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it's tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he's God's gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing's for sure - if she doesn't keep her wits about her there'll be hell to pay...

Forsaken is an amazing debut author novel! One i enjoyed so much reading that once i picked it up i just couldn't put it down until i reached the end!

The story and the world building is original (at least it's something i haven't read about yet!),the writing style amazing and the characters interesting and well developed!
What i enjoyed most,is the world that Jana Oliver creates to set her story. It's a dark world, where demons are at loose, terrorizing people and coexisting with them at the same time, kids go to school at old cafes or grocery stores but at the same time,it's a world so similar to the one we're living now that just fascinated me!
On top of that,Forsaken is a non stop action novel, full of so many emotions, from love and anticipation to the ultimate grief that just sucked me in from the moment i started reading it.

Jana Oliver has an uncanny abilty to let her characters fill and at the same time communicate those feelings to her readers.I could feel Riley's despair and grief as much as her love.Same goes with Beck. His emotions were not as tangible as those of Riley, but they were strong nevertheless. And i really liked how Oliver split her narration between Riley's and Beck's point of view. That way i could connect with both of them and to be honest,i think i would have connected with Beck's character either way! He's an amazing and complicated character, strong and caring and just perfect!
Riley is too one of the best characters i've ever encountered in a book.Determined, strong and unselfish.

Another thing i liked is the romance part of this book.Although not so strong an element throughout the whole book,it was enough to make me wonder about how things will evolve! And if i have to be honest with myself,i have to admit that Simon,no matter how good a kid was, just wasn't my cup of tea.One could say i'm totally team Beck here! There wasn't something wrong with Simon's character,on the contrary! It's just that good kids lack that certain spark a bad boy can give to a book!

To sum it up,Forsaken is a book i totally recommend to everyone! It's certainly not your typical YA book and i don't know if that's the exact reason i loved it so much!Well, yeah, that's one reason but this book has many more things you'll love about!I really can't wait for the next installment!
