Let It Snow Books: Interview with Elle Kennedy + Giveaway

Welcome to Day 6 of Let it Snow Books 2012, where for the next three weeks you have the chance to read some really fun holiday posts from some of your favorite authors, both here and at Ex Libris.

Today, we welcome author Elle Kennedy here at Books to Brighten your Mood with a festive post and you will have the chance to win a copy of Midnight Rescue, a romantic suspense novel full of action and steamy hot scenes. It's no wonder that it is among my favorite books for 2012!
Read a preview of my review here to see exactly why:
Midnight Rescue is the story of Abby, a strong and deeply wounded both physically and emotionally assassin, member of an elite team of female assassins run by the elusive Noelle (whose story I so want to read by the way) and Kane, member of an elite team himself, who has... You can read the rest of my review here.

-Since this whole event is about the Best Books we read in 2012, could you share with us some of your favorite titles you read this year?
Elle: Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward (can’t wait for Qhuay!!!), the Six Pack Ranch series from Vivian Arend, and the Iris Johansen Eve/Quinn/Bonnie trilogy.

-Is there anything special you usually do for the holidays?
Elle: We do Christmas Eve dinner and then open presents on Christmas morning, but that’s about as traditional as we get. I don’t have a very big family, and most of our relatives live overseas, so it’s very quiet in our household every holiday season. I’m sure that once the Kennedy females start having some babies, our holidays will be much livelier—and noisier!

-What’s your favorite thing about the holidays?
Elle: The food. I am addicted to turkey.

-What’s one of the best gifts you ever received/gave for Christmas?
Elle: You know, it’s been a while since someone got me a creative gift that I didn’t ask for in advance. And since I’m practical as hell, I always ask for the most mundane things every year—socks, gloves, an ice scraper for my car. But I love giving gifts. I’m the person who listens to every word my friends/family say and then I file it away for future use. So if you mention in June that you like/want/need an antique typewriter, I’m the person who buys it the next day and can’t wait to surprise you with it six months from now!

-What makes you feel that Christmas time is finally here?
Elle: The moment I hear that first holiday song come on the radio. This year it was “White Christmas.”

-You’re holiday shopping, name a few things you’ll buy this year.
Elle: I can’t reveal my list! What if one of my recipients is reading this?? But I will be buying a lot of gift-wrap, scotch tape, and holiday cards.

-We all love Christmas holidays, but I was wondering if there’s anything about them that you find annoying?
Elle: The moment I hear that same holiday song on the radio for the gazillionth time!

-Let’s say you have the chance to spend the holidays with a fictional character, who would that be and what would you be doing?
Elle: I’ve been reading a lot of cowboy romances lately, so I guess I would pick one of the many sexy cowboy heroes I’ve recently read about. And we would be doing cowboy things.

-What would you ask Santa to bring you this year?
Elle: Socks. And fewer back-to-back deadlines!

-What would be your (bookish or not) New Year’s resolutions?
Elle: I resolve to stop procrastinating. This way I won’t be pulling all-nighters trying to finish a book the week before the deadline!

Abby Sinclair had a desperate childhood until she was rescued and adopted by a retired army ranger who molded her into a master of self-defense. Now, she's a cunning and fearless assassin thrust into assignment after dangerous assignment, using everything she has-nerve, resilience, strength, sex-to come out on top. Her only rule: trust no one.
Abby's latest assignment is in Columbia: go undercover and snuff out a dangerous arms dealer active in the underground sex trade. But when Abby purposely blows her cover in a last-ditch attempt to free the helpless victims, deadly mercenary Kane Woodland is recruited as back-up. His mission: get Abby out of that hell hole.
