Today, I have the great honour of being the next stop of the Seers Virtual Book Tour!
Seers is the YA debut novel of the young and really talented Heather Frost about angels and people who can see auras. You can learn more about the book here and you can also read my review of Seers here.
Heather is stoping by for an interview today at my blog as well for a giveaway of her book courtesy of her publisher Cedar Fort.
But first thing, let's welcome Heather Frost!
-How did you decide to become an author?
Easy—I couldn't imagine doing anything else. Books have always been a part of my life,
and I wouldn't want it any other way. I knew I needed my career to reflect that, and so I started studying editing in college, and put more effort into writing; hard work and dreaming is finally paying off.
- Becoming an author was a childhood dream?
It was my greatest dream. Right up there with becoming the first little girl to join Robin Hood's band of Merry Men. (Which, for the record, I still haven't completely given up on.)

- Which place in the world are you dying to visit?
All of Europe. Ireland and England are both at the top of my list.

- What is the part you enjoy most while writing? What is the one you least enjoy?
I love creating new friends, and making characters I love to spend time with is so incredibly rewarding. My least favorite thing is writers block. Luckily I try to have a few projects going at a time, so I always have something to work on—even if I am stumped on one book idea.

- Is there a favorite time of day or place where you write?
I love to write in the afternoons, and especially in the evenings. When I'm really obsessed with an idea, though, it doesn't matter what time of day it is. My favorite writing place would probably be my bedroom, surrounded by my crowded bookshelves. It's a peaceful place, and I can really shut out distractions there.

- What is your favorite genre to read and could you share some of your favorite books?
Fantasy has always been my top favorite, but I read a lot of mystery stories as a kid. I'm also a fan of the classics. Some of my top favorite books include: the Harry Potter books, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Looking Glass Wars, the Lord of the Rings, The Thief Lord, The Book thief, The Maze Runner, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Jane Eyre . . .

- Your first book, Seers, is soon to be released. Could you please tell us a bit more about your book?
Seers is about a girl who's lost her parents, and gained new psychic abilities during the same accident. Kate Bennett has gone through a lot of changes recently, and she's not done yet. Trying to cope with the loss of her parents and come to terms with her new ability to see auras, she's desperately trying to be normal for the sake of family and friends. But when Kate starts to see invisible people and strange, color-less auras, she's about to find out how different her life has become. There is a war going on between immortals, and both sides want her help.
- Seers will be a part of a series or a stand alone book?
Seers is the first book in a trilogy—one that I'm very excited to get out there.

- What are your plans after Seers?
I'm working on Demons, which is the second book in The Seers Trilogy.

- Do you have some advice to any aspiring authors out there?
Appreciate praise, but don't depend on it. Good reviews might help build your confidence, but constructive criticism actually helps build a better book.
