For centuries war raged between the humans and Aeternus vampires—until courageous efforts on both sides forged a fragile peace.
But the rogue Necrodreniacs will never be controlled—addicted as they are to the death-high . . . and bloody chaos.
Since witnessing the murder of her mother, Antoinette Petrescu has burned with fiery hatred for the vampire race—even for Christian Laroque, the noble, dangerously handsome Aeternus who rescued her. Now an elite Venator, Antoinette must reluctantly accept Christian's help to achieve her vengeance—even as he plots to use the beautiful, unsuspecting warrior as bait to draw out the bloodthirsty dreniacs.

I really find it hard to make up my mind about this book...I certainly didn't like it,but i didn't hate it either. For some reason i finished it really quickly, but not because i couldn't put it down.I was mostly curious if it would get better, and to be honest,i hoped it would cause the idea of this book was quite appealing. But the result... well, was dissapointing.

Reading this book,i had flashes from previous series i've read, mostly the setting had something of Hamilton's Anita Blake series.Maybe it's just me,and although the heroine here is nothing like Anita, the whole setting and descriptions here reminded me of Hamilton's writing style. But as i said, maybe it's just me.I won't stick to that, since the somewhat resemblances to other series isn't what bothered me the most. What really annoyed me was that the dialogues and the whole plot was terribly cliche.I mean the whole story was so predictable that i knew who the bad guy was as soon as it was introduced to the story, and believe me it was really early...

Also the writing style was... boring. The writer kept repeating the same phraces which kind of tired me and there were lots of unecessary sex cenes.Don't get me wrong,i don't mind some or even lots of sex scenes in a book,as long as they're tastefully written and in most cases the sex scenes in this book where not tasteful,at least in my opinion.I think that you can always describe certain body parts in a more delicate way.Apart from boring, the writing was also uneven. There where times were the story picked up its pace and times were it dragged.

I also couldn't make myself like the heroine. She didn't know what she wanted and her behaviour was inconsistent. This moment she hates vampires and the next she befriends them only to hate them again after a while. Her moods were also like a roller coaster. One minute she's mad,the next she's trying to seduce a certain male.I don't know, those bits ruined my fun...

Picking up this book,i was prepaired for something similar to Night Huntress series, but they can't compare. So,if you have picked it because it reminds you the same series, well, don't bother.
